These rosettes add a beautiful embellishment to the soundhole of an acoustic guitar. They are made from timber mosaic so each rosette actually contains hundreds of individual pieces of timber, which come together to form the pattern. These deluxe rosettes are of a bolder pattern than our medium herringbone rosettes. They include bent black/white/black/white/black timber strips for inner and outer rings. - Genuine timber mosaic - Black & white bold herringbone pattern - Inside diameter 109mm (4.3") - Outside diameter 146mm (5.7") - Total width can be stretched or squashed approximately 4mm - Width of herringbone piece - 7.7mm (0.302") - Width of B/W/B/W/B rings 2.1mm (0.081") - Thickness - 1.2mm (0.05")
Inlaying a rosette is one of the easiest ways to add tasteful embellishment to a guitar.

In the past luthiers had to make rosettes from scratch in a lengthy process. These readymade rosettes are an easy way to get the same effect in a fraction of the time.

A circular trench should be cut into the guitar top to accept the rosette. The best way to cut this is using a Dremel rotary tool with our Soundhole/Rosette jig and a Downcut router bit.

Always wait to receive a rosette before routing the trench in order to get the size more accurate. Before installation seal the inside and outside edges with a light coat of glue or shellac to avoid black dye leaching into the endgrain of the top.
