This black has a warm hue, just right for the outer edge shading of a sunburst finish. ColorTone® Aerosol Guitar Lacquer is formulated especially for musical instruments. Fast-drying and resistant to alcohol and water, it produces a hard, durable finish. Add clear coats of ColorTone Clear Lacquer for a deep, sleek gloss. ColorTone® Classic Aerosols can be sprayed over smooth unfinished wood; over sanded grain filler; over sanding sealer or vinyl sealer, and over ColorTone Stains. Spray additional coats of Mohawk Nitrocellulose or ColorTone Clear Aerosol Guitar Lacquer over the coloured coat for a hard, durable finish. A complete guitar typically requires 1 can of sealer, 1 can of black, and 4-6 cans of clear topcoat. Aerosol spraying is an economical way for the beginner to apply a finish. Aerosols produce a slightly rougher surface than spray guns however, and more sanding of the clear topcoats may be needed for a level finished surface. Tinted coats should not be sanded.
