Curly American Maple Electric Cap 2-Piece #27 - 1st Grade

Electric guitars with an arched top, such as Les Paul and PRS styles, need a thick cap on the front of the body. The thickness of the cap allows for the carving of the deep arch which gives these guitars their beautiful look. The cap is glued onto the front of a regular body blank. The body is often made of a more plain timber such as Mahogany. Curly American Maple is the most traditional timber for carved-top Les Paul models. It's dense but relatively easy to work with.
