Fret Press Inserts

Pressing in frets is the most consistent way to get every fret seated along its whole length.

Pressing frets into a guitar fingerboard is quicker than hammering them. It also has the advantage that the entire fret is pressed in one operation, eliminating the possibility that an end will not be seated right or the fret will be deformed by the hammer.

A small amount of titebond glue can be applied to the tang of the fret before insertion. This is more of a sealant than an adhesive and it also reduces the chance of chipping during later refretting.

Some common radiuses are -
Fender electric guitars and basses - 7.25”, 9.5”, 10” & 12”
Gibson guitars and basses - 12”
Martin acoustic guitars - 16”
Ibanez electric guitars - 16”
Classical guitars - Flat & 20"
Ukuleles - Flat, 16" & 20"
The 6" insert works well to hold the ends of a fret down during gluing
