The optional Adjustable Depth Stop allows the depth of cut to be set to perfectly suit the height of the fret tang. - High quality - Made in Sheffield England - Hardened high-carbon steel blade - Cuts on pull stroke - Fits our Fret Slotting Mitre Box - 10" (250mm) blade length - 0.023" (0.58mm) width of cut - 16 teeth per inch
A Fret Slotting Saw is one of the most used tools in a guitar maker's workshop. It is needed for virtually every fretting job from slotting the frets in the fingerboard of a new guitar to cleaning the slots in an old guitar before a refret.

The laser-cut Acrylic depth stop should be adjusted to cut a slot that is just slightly deeper than the tang of the frets. Fret slots which are too deep weaken the fingerboard, the depth stop eliminates this problem.

The fine teeth of the saw makes it useful for other guitar making applications such as cutting mortices for braces or cutting braces to length.
