These first grade blanks are suitable for cutting all types or bracing. It is conventional to use German Spruce for the bracing of classical guitars with German Spruce or Western Red Cedar tops. German Spruce is often used for the bracing of steel string acoustic guitars with German Spruce tops but some makers prefer to use Sitka Spruce for the bracing as it is stiffer.
These blanks are also suitable for the bracing and blocks in a violin or mandolin.
