String ferrules are used in conjunction with a Tele® style bridge or hardtail Strat® style bridge. They are fitted to the back of the guitar, behind the bridge and anchor the ends of the strings.
String ferrules can also be used in combination with top mounted string ferrules and a tunematic bridge.
