This modern version of vintage Gibson ABR-1 tunematic bridge features the same thin (4mm diameter) threaded posts that screw straight into the body as the ABR-1. It has modern style saddles, eliminating the retainer wire which was always an issue with ABR-1 bridges.
Tunematic bridges are most frequently used in conjunction with stopbar tailpieces. This setup is the most common used on Gibson guitars as well as countless other brands.
The Stop Bar Tailpiece is used to anchor the ends of the strings and the strings then go over the top of the tunematic bridge. Sometimes a trapeze tailpiece, Bigsby tremolo or Top-Mounted String Ferrules are used instead of a stopbar.
These Gotoh brand GE-104B model Tunematic Bridges are made in Japan to the highest quality standards. They're an excellent choice for a custom build, or for replacing the existing bridge on a guitar.
