These high quality mandolin tuners are made by Gotoh in Japan. They turn smoothly and hold their tune well.
The MF40R model is a drop-in fit for many F-style mandolins. The buttons flare out towards the top of the headstock to suit the F-style's head shape.
The reverse-gear format is the original style used on vintage mandolins, it is still widely used today. The worms are mounted below the gears as opposed to the other way around.
