These are the world's finest nut files and are used by most professional luthiers and guitar technicians. They are made in Japan from hardened stainless steel and are double-sided for a long lifetime of use. Nut files are used for cutting or adjusting the slots in the nuts of guitars and basses. Just choose the gauge that matches the string and cut the groove. If the string is bigger than the file, the file can be rocked from side to side to widen the slot slightly. - Uo-Chikyu Hiroshima brand - Made in Japan - 0.010" Gauge - Professional quality - Double sided - Hald-round edge profile - 115mm (4 1/2") cutting length - Hardened stainless steel tool
Nut files are used to create or modify the slots in guitar and bass nuts.

These hardened stainless steel files are specially designed for nut slotting. They are made to various widths to match the diameters of strings. The half-round edge profile cuts a round bottom in the slot to match the string profile.

The files are suitable for all materials including bone, plastic, graphite, Tusq and brass.
