These planes were designed by Irving Sloane specifically for instrument making. The combination of small size and flat base makes them ideal for carving the outside of arch topped instruments, shaping braces and many other lutherie applications. They are made in USA to a very polished standard and are finished off more like a piece of jewellery than a tool.
