Knob indicators (pointer washers) are used to show the position of the volume or tone knob on a guitar. They are frequently seen on Gibson® models such as Les Paul® and SG® but can be used on any guitar.
The indicators are mounted between the pot nut and the top of the guitar and are pointed to the knob's zero position. This setup gives a more definite reading of tone or volume level.
