Orange Drop capacitors by Sprague are premium quality electronic components made in the U.S.A. Using premium capacitors is widely believed to enhance the tone of an electric guitar or bass. The tone control on a guitar is made by attaching a capacitor to a pot. It is best to follow the wiring diagram you are using when choosing capacitor values or copy what is in an existing guitar. - Made in U.S.A - Attach to a pot to form a tone circuit - More robust than Ceramic Capacitors

Premium quality capacitors by Sprague U.S.A

- Made in U.S.A
- 200v model (this is the max rating, they do not store high voltage when used in a guitar) - Attach to a pot to form a tone circuit
- More robust than Ceramic Capacitors
- Believed to enhance tone over standard capacitors

The value of the capacitor will have an impact on the tone control and how much treble is cut off when the knob is turned. The brand and type of capacitor is less significant but many guitarists believe it influences the tone of the guitar.

Capacitor Values
In the early years 0.02 mf (or 0.022 mf) capacitors were commonly used on guitars with humbucker pickups and 0.05 mf (or 0.047 mf) were seen on guitars with single coil pickups.

In recent years this convention has changed and manufactures such as Seymour Duncan are recommending the use of 0.05 mf (or 0.047 mf) for humbuckers and 0.02 mf (or 0.022 mf) for single coils.
