Queensland Maple is lightweight and resonant, making it ideal for the backs and sides of Mandolins and Violins. Many of the Queensland Maple pieces we stock exhibit beautiful figuring, which gives a finished instrument a stunning look. The timber is easy to work with, though curly pieces require extra care when carving. - One-piece to carve a back for a violin or mandolin - Oversize: offcut can be sliced into ribs - First Grade - 375mm tapering to 255mm wide - 573mm long - 23-25mm uneven thickness - Highly figured with nice colour - Air dried minimum 10 years - Individually photographed - the piece in the photo is the one you will receive - Photo in darker shade is photographed with alcohol applied to surface to replicate the finished colour
