These endpin jacks are good quality and easy to fit. They are the same jacks fitted to Takamine guitars and several other brands. They have a large flange on the outside of the guitar which has 3 screws inserted to hold the jack in place. Endpin jacks have an endpin integrated into the jack so you plug the lead into the guitar in the centre of the endpin. They're perfect for the installation of a pickup in any acoustic or archtop guitar where you don't want to mutilate the side by drilling a hole in it. - Long barrel jack with endpin - Solid 3 screw housing - Replaces endpin for inconspicuous result - Replacement for Takamine & other brands - Requires 1/2" (12.5mm) hole - Standard 1/4" jack - For mono or stereo wiring - Stereo wiring for battery switch in active pickups - Chrome plated - Mounting screws included - Made in Korea

The jacks require a 12mm (1/2") hole to be drilled in the end of the guitar where the endpin fits. Be careful drilling this hole as it is easy to crack the delicate side of the guitar.

The best technique is to start by drilling a large pilot hole and then use an augur bit to drill the full-size hole. The pilot hole should be bigger than the threaded part of the augur bit (around 4mm) to prevent it screwing in and giving you more control. When drilling the full-size hole start with the drill in reverse and let the blade of the bit cut the edge of the hole, then switch the drill to forwards and slowly drill the hole, paying attention that it's perpendicular to the surface.

If you are unsure please take your instrument to a luthier or guitar repairer to have this hole drilled

The jack is wired up by threading the wire through the hole to the outside of the guitar. The wires are solved in place then the jack is inserter into the hole and screwed in place.
