These are the highest quality endpin jacks available. An essential for fitting a pickup to an acoustic guitar.

The jacks require a 12mm (1/2") hole to be drilled in the end of the guitar where the endpin fits. Be careful drilling this hole as it is easy to crack the delicate side of the guitar.

The best technique is to start by drilling a large pilot hole and then use an augur bit to drill the full-size hole. The pilot hole should be bigger than the threaded part of the augur bit (around 4mm) to prevent it screwing in and giving you more control. When drilling the full-size hole start with the drill in reverse and let the blade of the bit cut the edge of the hole, then switch the drill to forwards and slowly drill the hole, paying attention that it's perpendicular to the surface.

If you are unsure please take your instrument to a luthier or guitar repairer to have this hole drilled

The jack is wired up, pushed through the hole from the inside of the instrument and the nut is tightened from the outside. Finally the endpin fitting is screwed on.
