This is the best glue we have found for attaching plastic guitar bindings. The solvent-based adhesive bonds very well to plastic and timber. Acrifix 1R 0192 is similar to Weld-on # 16, another common glue used to attach plastic bindings. We have used both glues and the Acrifix has a longer working time and shorter drying time, making it the clear winner. It dries transparent and residue can be cleaned off using scrapers and sandpaper. 24 hours drying is recommended before working on bindings glued with it. The fumes are very strong so use in a ventilated area and wear a spray painting mask during use. Cannot be shipped outside Australia or by Express Post - Single part adhesive - Works with all plastic bindings - Solvent based - Fast drying - Strong - Clear, dries transparent - Bonds well to plastic & wood - 100 gram tube - enough for at least 4 guitars. - Strong fumes - Spray painting mask recommended - Made in Germany To view the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) click here

The glue dries quickly and melts the plastic so it is recommended to only work on a section of the binding at a time. If you apply glue too long section at one time the glue may dry by the time you get to the end, resulting in a bumpy look.

Apply a liberal amount of the glue to the binding slot. A section of 100-300mm of binding is a good amount to do at each time. Once that section is taped move onto the next section.

Tape the binding in place using our Binding Tape, spaced with around 10mm between each piece, or closer in tight areas.
