This tool is an elegant solution to clamping the bridge of an acoustic guitar during gluing, without the use of any clamps. The caul is held in place with two bolts that go through the bridge pin holes. These bolts clamp the middle of the bridge down and then the ends can be clamped using the thumbscrews. The device eliminates the need for any bridge clamps. it also makes it easier to clean off glue squeeze-out. - Works on acoustic guitars with bridge pins - No clamps needed - Made from strong and stable Rock Maple - Cork lined - Stainless Steel hardware - 35mm x 153mm (1-3/8" x 5")
Positioning & Drilling
Start py positioning the bridge in place by using the scale length, centring and squaring it. It is useful to use masking tape to mark the outline of the bridge on the guitar’s top.

Drill through the outer two bridge pin holes, right through the top. Use a 5mm drill bit.

Gluing
it is recommended to do a ‘dry run’ without glue before gluing to check the join and process.

After applying glue place the caul on the bridge and put the two bolts through the caul and the bridge and guitar top.

Tighten the wing-nuts from the inside of the guitar, tighten both nuts evenly until they are very firm.

Gradually screw down the two outer thumbscrews using the maple blocks provided to protect the bridge and spread the load.
Watch the you of the ends of the bridge to the top and ensure they are clamped down tight and evenly. Excessive tightening is not beneficial.

Clean off the glue excess and check the join. Adjust the tightness of the thumbscrews as needed to get the best pressure over the length of the bridge.
