Get rid of buzz, hum, noise and radio interference in your guitar by shielding pickups and control cavities with this self-adhesive copper tape. The self-adhesive backing is also conductive, so overlapped seams are electrically continuous. Wrap this tape around pickup coils for additional shielding. To use simply cover the surface of as much of the guitar's cavities and control plates as possible, then connect the shielding to electronic ground (more detail below) Available in three different widths or as a set of 3. The wider tapes are best for covering large areas and can be cut down, the narrow tapes are good for detail work. - 15' (4.5m) length rolls - Reduces hum, static and interference noise - Conductive for electrical shielding - Available in 3 widths for versatile application - 2" (50mm) 3/4" (19mm) & 1/4" (6.4mm) widths - 0.00125" (0.076mm) thickness - One sided tape for easy installation - Backing is conductive for conduction across joins - Can be soldered
Copper tape is easy to apply. It can be cut to shape with scissors or a blade. It can be bent and folded and conforms to edges to form a seamless coverage.

For best results all cavities should be covered in tape then connected to ground. Usually the shielding is automatically connected to ground when the pots are installed and touch it.

The backing of the tape is conductive so it one piece will conduct into the next without soldering.

Be careful not to have any of the live wires accidentally touch the shielding or it will stop the electronics from working.
