Empress wood (Paulownia Tomentosa) is becoming a popular choice for electric guitar and bass bodies.
This timber is very lightweight and easy to machine. It is one of the most sustainable, fast-growing timbers available so it is environmentally friendly.
Several electric guitars manufacturers are now using Empress Wood to make guitar bodies including Fender.
