- Circular fret-slotting saw blade - Fits table saw or radial arm saw - Cuts 0.6mm (0.023") fret slots - High-quality; made in UK - High-carbon steel - Fast and accurate slotting - Outer diameter: 180mm - Arbor hole: 30mm - Number of teeth: 100 - Hollow-ground edge with thicker centre for stiffness Made specifically for slotting fingerboards, this blade will take a lot of the hard manual labour out of the job, while producing quality results. Precisely machined from high-carbon tool steel, the blade cuts perfect 0.6mm slots, suitable for any common fretwire. It is suitable for use on any timber or scale-length. It's best to use one of our Fret Slotting Templates with an index pin to line up the slots quickly and easily. (instructions below) The centre hole is 30mm. Adapter rings/reduction are available from tool suppliers to fit saws with other sized arbours.
Using with a Table Saw

It's best to use a Fret Slotting Template in conjunction with this blade in a table saw. We have templates available in many different scale lengths.

Use the sliding cross-cut fence to sit against the edge of the fingerboard and keep it square while cutting the slots. It's best to make the fence longer by attaching a length of strong timber to it. The index pin supplied with the template is inserted into a hole drilled in this timber.

Attach the template to the bottom of the fingerboard using 3M Clean Removal Double Sided Tape. Use enough tape to hold it firmly but not so much that it's difficult to remove the template. As a general guideline use 4 pieces 50mm long, evenly spaced along the length of the fingerboard.

Set the depth of the cut to allow for the radius, fret slot depth and around 0.5mm extra. It's best to radius the fingerboard after slotting, as the flat fingerboard will be more stable on the saw.
