German Maple (also commonly known as European Maple) has been used in the necks of violin family instruments for centuries.
It is a strong, lightweight timber with a beautiful creamy white appearance with a flamed figure.
Grading is based purely on the aesthetic appearance and depth of figure. Lower grade pieces produce the same sound and structural integrity as higher grades.
