The fine tip is used to trace the outline of pearl inlay pieces into the timber prior to it being routed to fit the inlay. The sharp line given is more precise than that of a pen or pencil. The point is perfect for creating a centred ‘pilot hole’ for starting screws off for tuners, pickguards etc. Once marked this hole can be enlarged using a drill if needed. The handle is machined from aluminium. The serrated profile adds grip and the tool is easy to hold.
