These reamers were developed for violin and cello peg holes, but they are suitable for a number of other lutherie tasks, including reaming for guitar tuners, flamenco pegs and endpin jacks.
They work better than any other tool or method for increasing the size of a hole. The tapered shaft, with its three razor-sharp blades, allows for any size hole to be created.
The smaller reamer can be used for vintage-style guitar tuners, which have an 8.8mm bush size. The larger reamer is suitable for all guitar tuners including vintage and modern models.
Reaming holes-
Simply insert the reamer and turn the handle. As it shaves the inside of the hole out bigger it will slowly drop into the hole. Go slowly as it works very effectively.
Keep checking the hole until you get the prefect fit for your tuners.
Once you know the perfect position along the reamer for one tuner you can use some masking tape to mark the position so you can do the other holes to the same size.
