The timber is similar to Mahogany, lightweight, stable and strong, making it ideal for blocks. It's straight-grained, carves and sands easily. Queensland Maple has been used for many years in the Australian guitar industry. Australian guitar manufacturer Maton have used this timber for the necks of most of their steel string guitars for several decades. We have found that this local timber also works very well in ukuleles.
