These Switchcraft jacks are the industry standard in quality and design. They are the same jacks used on many Gibson models as well as many other quality electric guitars.
The Long-Thread model is used where a little extra length is needed to get through the mounting hole. They are often used in the tops on Archtop guitars and in some solidbody electric models where the jack is mounted directly through the top.
The jack socket is one of the most important electronic components of a quality guitar. Switchcraft jacks make a great replacement for low-quality, worn out and crackly jacks. They are also perfect for new custom builds.
