These double-action truss rods are strong, reliable and easy to install. The low-profile design requires a smaller slot in the neck than most other truss rods. They consist of two steel rods joined at the ends. When the nut is adjusted one rod becomes a different length to the other rod, causing the truss rod to bend. 2-way (Double Action) truss rods have the advantage of being able to bend in both directions. This occasionally becomes very useful, especially when very light gauge strings are used, or if the neck warps. Welded 2-Way Truss Rods are easy to install, requiring a straight slot. (instructions below) - Requires straight narrow slot - Adjusts with 4mm allen key - Width - 6.2mm (0.24") - Depth - 9.2mm (0.37") 330mm - For 12-fret neck acoustic guitars (headstock or neck block adjusting nut position) - Total length - 330mm (13") - Weight - 100 Grams 360mm - For acoustic guitars (headstock or neck block adjusting nut position) - Total length - 360mm (14-3/16") - Weight - 110 Grams 390mm - For 14-fret acoustic guitars (neck block adjusting nut position) - Total length - 390mm (15-23/64") - Weight - 120 Grams 440mm - For electric or acoustic guitars (acoustic guitars with soundhole adjusting nut position) - Total length - 440mm (17-3/8") - Weight - 135 Grams 460mm - For electric guitars - Total length - 460mm (17-3/8") - Weight - 140 Grams 590mm - For Bass - Total length - 590mm (23-1/4") - Weight - 180 Grams
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Welded 2-Way Truss Rods should be installed with the round rod towards the back of the neck and the square rod against the fingerboard.

The slot should be cut so the truss rod is a neat fit. The depth should be a little deeper than rather than two shallow, the truss rod shouldn't protrude above the surface of the neck at all.

The slot may need to be enlarged slightly around the adjusting nut to allow space for it.

The truss rod is not glued in, it sits in the slot and friction keeps it in place.

Before gluing the fingerboard on fit the truss rod in place then cover it with a layer of thin 'sticky tape'. Cut the sticky tape around 2mm wider than the slot, just wide enough to let it stick to the wood.

The sticky tape is there to create a membrane to prevent glue from getting into the truss rod while gluing the fingerboard. It's important to use only very thin plastic tape as thicker tapes will cause a lump and stop the fingerboard from contacting the neck during gluing.

IMPORTANT – Do not allow any glue to go on or into the truss rod or around the nut as this may cause it to jam.
