These welded single-action truss rods are strong, reliable and easy to install. The low-profile design requires a smaller slot in the neck than most other truss rods. They consist of two steel rods joined at the ends. When the nut is adjusted one rod becomes shorter than the other rod, causing the truss rod to bend. Welded Truss Rods are easy to install, requiring a straight slot. (instructions below) - For electric guitars with head adjusting nut position - Requires straight narrow slot - Adjusts with 7mm hex wrench (Can be replaced with other truss rod nuts) - Total length - 460mm (18") - Width - 6.2mm (0.244") - Depth - 9.2mm (0.365") - Weight - 170 Grams

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

These truss rods should be installed with the round rod towards the back of the neck and the square rod against the fingerboard.

The slot should be cut so the truss rod is a neat fit. The depth should be a little deeper than rather than two shallow, the truss rod shouldn't protrude above the surface of the neck at all.

A larger cavity should be cut around the adjusting nut to allow space for it and an adjustment wrench.

The truss rod is not glued in, it sits in the slot and friction keeps it in place.

Before gluing the fingerboard on fit the truss rod in place then cover it with a layer of thin 'sticky tape'. Cut the sticky tape around 2mm wider than the slot, just wide enough to let it stick to the wood.

The sticky tape is there to create a membrane to prevent glue from getting into the truss rod while gluing the fingerboard. It's important to use only very thin plastic tape as thicker tapes will cause a lump and stop the fingerboard from contacting the neck during gluing.

IMPORTANT – Do not allow any glue to go on or into the truss rod or around the nut as this may cause it to jam.
