These rosettes add a beautiful embellishment to the soundhole of an acoustic guitar. They are made from timber mosaic so each rosette actually contains hundreds of individual pieces of coloured timber, which come together to form the pattern. This is a particularly narrow rosette and is ideal for a modest guitar. You can also add laminated timber purflings to make it wider or do a 3-piece design. - Genuine timber mosaic - Black & white - Half-herringbone/rope design - Inside diameter - 113mm (4.45") - Inside diameter can be adjusted plus or minus 3mm (0.12") - Width - 3.9mm (0.16") - Thickness - 1.1mm (0.045")

Inlaying a rosette is one of the easiest ways to add tasteful embellishment to a guitar.

In the past luthiers had to make mosaic rosettes from scratch in a lengthy process. These readymade rosettes are an easy way to get the same effect in a fraction of the time.

A circular trench should be cut into the guitar top to accept the rosette. The best way to cut this is using a Dremel rotary tool with our Soundhole/Rosette jig and a Downcut router bit.

Always wait to receive a rosette before routing the trench in order to get the size more accurate. Before installation seal the inside and outside edges with a light coat of glue or shellac to avoid black dye leaching into the endgrain of the top.
