The easiest way to spray a professional finish! Get a beautiful metalic purple nitrocellulose lacquer finish without complicated spray equipment.
This purple metallic finish is a very special color in that it has not been a production line color for either Fender or Gibson. Its exclusivity is due to its use in custom guitars, masterbuilders, and limited edition guitars.
This color has been a landmark color for being used on Prince's legendary guitar—his Symbol model—made by luthier Jerry Auerswald. In 1993, Prince became embroiled in a contractual dispute with his record label, Warner Brothers, which sought to limit his prolific output to suit the pace of the marketing department. To reclaim his artistic independence, he changed his name to "symbol" and began appearing at concerts with the word "slave" written on his face in protest against the industry.
As part of his new identity as an artist formerly known as Prince, he commissioned instrument maker Jerry Auerswald to design and build this guitar in the shape of his eponymous symbol. Prince used variations and copies of this instrument in live performances, including the 2007 Super Bowl half-time show.

ColorTone® Aerosol Guitar Lacquer is produced by Nitorlack especially for musical instruments. Fast-drying and resistant to alcohol and water, it produces a hard, durable finish.
ColorTone® Aerosols can be sprayed over smooth unfinished wood or stained wood, though better results are achieved if it is applied over a sealed surface, such as sanded grain filler; sanding sealer or vinyl sealer or clear lacquer.
Spray additional coats of Mohawk Nitrocellulose or ColorTone Clear Aerosol Guitar Lacquer over the coloured coat for a hard, durable finish.
A complete guitar typically requires 1/2-1 can of sealer, 1/2-1 can of colour, and 4-6 cans of clear gloss topcoat.
