Nut files are used to create or modify the slots in guitar and bass nuts. These Hiroshima Nut File Sets are the world's finest nut files and are used by most professional luthiers and guitar technicians.


These hardened stainless steel files are specially designed for nut slotting. They are made to various widths to match the diameters of strings. The half-round edge profile cuts a round bottom in the slot to match the string profile.


Fret files are used for putting the rounded shape back into frets after they are levelled. Fret files can also be used to grind down an individual fret if it's too high.

Hosco Compact Fret Files are excellent quality fret files at an economical price. One edge has a coarse cut for rapid removal of metal and the other edge has a fine cut for smoothing off and more precision.
