These ABS plastic binding and purfling strips are very flexible, they can be glued in place without pre-bending.
The thicker strips are typically used for the outside bindings and the thinner strips are used for contrasting purflings.
They can be laminated together with white or cream strips to form many different combinations. A timber purfling can also be used to the inside of a plastic binding.

Cutting Binding Rebate
The binding rebate is typically cut into the edge of the guitar with a router and router bit of the appropriate size and type. We have a range of router jigs and router bits for this purpose. The rebate can also be cut by hand with our purfling/binding cutter.
Laminating
Acetone works well for laminating the plastic strips together. The Binding Laminator jig is used to squeeze the layers of binding together.
Gluing
Plastic glue such as Acrifix is best for attaching plastic binding, but superglue also works well, especially for short lengths.
Our Binding Tape is ideal for holding the bindings in place as the glue dries.
